The goal of Assist Leadership is to provide individuals and organizations with outstanding coaching and consulting in leadership development and team building. Coaching is a good news opportunity to a leader and team!

  1. Leadership Development:  Understanding and addressing leadership development priorities that will serve the client and their organization. My approach begins with a learning phase that includes gathering data and information from the client and stakeholder interviews and other assessments (if agreed), such as Leadership Circle Profile™ Certification for Individual Leaders and Teams. I work with clients to develop goals linked to their growth as a leader, focusing on business impact, creating an action plan to address development goals, and connecting regularly during the coaching period to maintain focus on development. We evaluate progress together and adjust plans when needed. Depending on the nature of the coaching engagement, my process enlists input and support from the client’s manager and Human Resources partner. I view this activity as an opportunity to help a leader transform themselves and their team and organization. We will plan the engagement together to take best advantage of limited client time and resources.
  2. Coaching Teams: Working with teams toward excellent collaboration and communication to serve operational needs, to launch new projects, and to develop team leadership skills. Focus is on coaching team members and leaders to establish group norms and conflict resolution skills that meet overall organization and stakeholders needs. Coaching can occur within a functional team (e.g. finance, HR, research management, legal) and across functional teams. Leadership Circle Profile™ Certification for Individual Leaders and Teams. Certified practitioner.
  3.  Succession Planning:  This is about a specific leadership transition plan to prepare a new executive or operational team leader.  This service includes assessment, focused leadership development plan, and working with both the “emerging” leader and their manager, team members, and Human Resources toward a seamless transition.
  4.  Leadership Problem Solving:  I coach organizations to solve business problems by ensuring that leadership is focused on clear and purposeful teamwork, strategic thoughts and language, and actions in a safe, confidential, and transparent manner. The goal is to help a leadership team set the best path and make the best decisions possible to move an organization forward through difficult organizational problems or challenges.
  5. Examples may include:

    • reputational matter
    • abrupt or unanticipated leadership transition
    • leadership team dysfunction
    • bankruptcy
    • compliance deficiency

I work with a leader or team to help them care for themselves as the organization moves through periods of initial wound through healing. A team’s time and energy is their most precious commodity, and times of leadership stress challenge all of their resources. My coaching in this arena is intentionally positive, and focused on leadership presence and communication and forward-movement. Goal is to help the leader and leadership team identify quick wins and long term goals to overcome an organizational crisis or difficulty.
